Mobius

Mobius Management Systems has Internet-enabled its data storage and retrieval system, DocumentDirect, so that the documents in a bank's enterprise can be made available over the Web. Thus, retail customers, for example, can retrieve their old statements and checks at will for less than it costs a bank to store and retrieve data on microfiche.

CIBC

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is beta testing the first Web- enabled "intelligent" ATM, which it helped develop with Tandem Computers and NCR. By year end, CIBC's network of 3,100 ATMs will deliver an expanded and customized product offering. Where new screens once took months to place in the network, Web ATMs can be updated in real-time.

Schlumberger

As Visa, First Union National Bank Corp. and Citibank pledge their allegiance to the Java smart card, Schlumberger is first to deliver the actual card that can support their schemes. Called Cyberflex, it uses the Java Card API to create a multi-application environment. Cyberflex can support financial, healthcare, benefits and telecom applications, among others.
