Transaction software firm Fundtech has moved into the corporate mobile payment space with mobile banking platform provider Firethorn, owned by Qualcomm. The two firms announced the partnership that will add mobile connectivity to Fundtech’s CASHplus cash management system, enabling funds transfer and bill-pays in the corporate banking environment. Fundtech is widely deployed in corporate suites, plus has one of the largest global SWIFT service bureaus in the industry.
The move graduates Firethorn’s platform into business banking, building from its prominent industry status as the application-based platform for several banks’ consumer mobile banking services through Firethorn-enabled carrier relationships.
“We selected Firethorn because of their wide distribution among mobile operators, which ensures the largest number of business users will have access to their time-critical banking information and services,” says Brian Jou, evp of global product for Fundtech, according to a statement.
