Mark F. Furlong took over as chief executive officer of Marshall & Ilsley Corp. Tuesday, succeeding Dennis J. Kuester, who remains chairman of the Milwaukee banking company.
The $56.5 billion-asset company announced the succession plan in December. The 64-year-old Mr. Kuester has been chairman since January 2005 and CEO since October 2001. Mr. Furlong, 49, has been president since April 2005.
