Guaranty Adopts Cypress Loan Software

Guaranty Bank of Austin, TX has moved to automate and centralize its loan requests with Cypress Software systems’ Mark IV software.

The $15.4 billion bank installed the software this past summer; loan officers in Guaranty’s 160 banking centers across Texas and California use it to process credit applications. In the early part of 2009, Guaranty plans to add Cypress’ WebApp module to let lower-level banking associates directly submit loan requests.

Mark IV, which is also used by Umpqua Bank of Portland, OR and Florida’s Capital City Bank, aids in decision consistency—a must for risk management purposes—and speeds up the process, from application to sending off new-account setup information to the servicing or loan-doc preparation arm of an institution.

“We were looking for a technology solution that was more user-friendly than our previous lending system and provided the reporting functions we need to make timely, informative decisions. Cypress’ Mark IV was the answer,” says Monica Maguire, senior vice president and director of the retail loan center at Guaranty.
