Hartford Financial Services Inc. of Connecticut has two new fixed-income funds and a new fund of funds.
The Hartford High Yield Municipal Bond Fund is designed to maximize tax-free income, while the Hartford Strategic Income Fund focuses on emerging markets. The high-yield bond fund will be subadvised by Hartford Investment Management Co.
The Hartford Checks and Balances Fund, the fund of funds, invests in three Hartford funds to allocate assets among different classes and investment styles.
The minimum initial investment for the funds, which were announced Wednesday, is $1,000 or $50 to open with an automatic investment plan of $50 a month.
Hartford offers 54 proprietary funds with $42 billion of assets under management. It has more than quadrupled its assets since 2001.
