The human resources provider Hewitt Associates Inc. announced Monday that it has agreed to acquire RealLife HR.
Hewitt, of Lincolnshire, Ill., said that it hopes to enhance its portfolio of benefits outsourcing services for middle-market companies by acquiring the Hunt Valley, Md., company.
RealLife HR delivers health and welfare benefits administration services through a proprietary platform targeting employers with fewer than 15,000 employees or retirees.
It has about 35 clients. Hewitt is to retain RealLife HR's approximately 85 employees.
Hewitt said that the deal is expected to close this month. The price was not disclosed.
RealLife HR clients include Magellan Health Systems, Bombardier, adidas, US Airways, and the North Carolina Office of State Personnel.
Hewitt Associates consults with more than 2,300 organizations and administers programs on behalf of more than 340 companies. It has 24,000 employees in 35 countries.
