HighTower Advisors of Chicago has hired a three-member team of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney veterans to its Palm Desert, Calif., office.

The team, which operates under the name Blanke Schein Group, is made up of William F. Blanke, Robert L. Schein and J. Michael Shields.
All three will serve as partners and managing directors.
Blanke spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, including 17 as a branch manager. Schein was at the firm for 10 years and Shields spent three years there.
