Hobson to leave leasing association, development council.

WASHINGTON -- David F. Hobson has resigned as executive director of both the Association of Governmental Leasing & Finance and the Council of Development Finance Agencies effective Jan. 1 to become president of a textile trade association.

Hobson, who is an associate with Smith, Bucklin Associates Inc., an association management firm, has headed the leasing group since 1986 and the economic development group since August.

The leasing group has not named a new executive director yet, but a decision is expected within the next few weeks, said Neal E. Skiver, chairman of the board. Skiver said the board of directors voted to continue employing Smith Bucklin, which is expected to propose a new director shortly.

Hobson's resignation comes at an unsettling time for the economic development council, which was without a director for a year before hiring Smith Bucklin in August.

Hobson will become the president and chief executive officer of the Uniform and Textile Services Association.
