Houston's DuPure to Use Readers from Commerciant

The Houston air and water purification system provider DuPure International Inc. has agreed to use mobile credit card readers from Commerciant LP.

The wireless payments technology company, which is also based in Houston, said Monday that DuPure plans to issue the Mobilescape 5000 card readers to its technicians, so they can accept payments at customers' homes. The readers can process card and check payments.

DuPure said that customers were concerned about giving checks to its technicians, and that accepting cards will make potential customers less worried about fraud.

"The addition of Mobilescape terminals to our truck fleet provides an easy, safe way to pay, while freeing our field service representatives to focus on the customer," Melissa Schilder, DuPure's president, said in a Commerciant press release.
