For 21 years, American Banker's Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance rankings have been celebrating top-performing senior executives. Now we invite you to nominate the up-and-coming women in your bank or financial institution.

Applications for Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance: Next are now being accepted.

This award is meant to recognize high-achieving women in the pipeline and bring more visibility to those who are on a path to become the C-suite leaders of tomorrow. A group of 20 women, 40 years of age and younger, will be selected, each with accomplishments and influence that set them apart.

Those who earn a spot on the 2023 Next list will be celebrated during the annual Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance week in early October.

Each applicant will need a nomination supplied by an executive at her company (a mentor or manager of hers) who can speak to her exceptional work and leadership skills.

Only employees of private sector financial services firms whose activities are primarily focused on commercial or retail banking (i.e., banks, thrifts and bank-owned subsidiaries, divisions, or groups) or a private sector financial institution (i.e., wealth management, investment banking, investment management firms) can participate. In addition, their job must be based in the U.S. or Canada, or their firms must be based in the U.S. or Canada.
