Hubco UnitIn Connecticut To Be Run by Natwest Veteran

Lafayette American Bank, Bridgeport, Conn., a subsidiary of Mahwah, N.J.-based Hubco Inc., has hired Paul C. Kreuch Jr. as president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Kreuch, most recently a senior vice president at Skott/Edwards Consultants in New York, had been an executive vice president of Natwest Bancorp and a member of its management committee. He had also been president, CEO, and a director of the New York subsidiary of National Westminster Bank USA.

Before he joined Natwest in 1982, Mr. Kreuch was a senior vice president at Connecticut National Bank.

At Lafayette American, Mr. Kreuch succeeded John F. McIlwain, who had been president and CEO since February. Mr. McIlwain has taken back his old job in New Jersey as Hubco's executive vice president and chief credit officer.

Meanwhile, A. Roger Bosma, who succeeded Mr. McIlwain earlier this year as Hubco's chief credit officer, was named to succeed Joseph B. Tockarshewsky as president of Poughkeepsie Financial Corp. when Hubco buys it.

The purchase is expected to close in the first quarter. Mr. Tockarshewsky would remain chairman, and Poughkeepsie Financial would be renamed Bank of the Hudson.
