Hudson Valley in N.Y. Brings Its Top Lawyer In-House

Hudson Valley Holding (HVB) in Yonkers, N.Y. has hired a longtime advisor to be its top in-house lawyer.

James Blose started Friday as the general counsel and secretary, a newly created position, at Hudson Valley's $3 billion commercial banking unit.

Blose was an outside counsel to Hudson Valley for more than 15 years, the company said. Before joining Hudson Valley, he was a partner at the firm Griffin, Coogan, Blose, Sulzer & Horgan in Bronxville, N.Y., specializing in banking law and commercial real estate deals.

Blose "is intimately familiar with our processes and our operations," said Chief Executive Stephen Brown in the press release. "Now is the right time to bring [Blose] in-house as we continue to strengthen the management team."

Hudson Valley has seen substantial turnover in its management team this year, adding a new chief financial officer in May and a new chief credit officer in July.
