Huntington Bancshares Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, announced it has bought Archer-Meek-Weiler Agency Inc. of Columbus.
Archer, which sells personal and commercial insurance as well as group benefits, has been folded into Huntington's Sky Insurance Inc., the $54 billion-asset holding company said Tuesday.
It did not say how much it paid.
Archer is the largest independent agency in Columbus, with over $60 million of premium revenue a year and 40 employees.
Jerry Batt, Sky's president, said in a press release Tuesday that Archer serves clients in central Ohio.
"They will not only add expertise to our organization, but they will help us develop our strategy to expand client relationships within Huntington's central Ohio region, where there is already a strong banking presence," Mr. Batt said.
