Helga Houston will join Huntington Bancshares Inc. as chief risk officer with outgoing risk chief Kevin Blakely retiring at year-end.
Houston is a partner with Phoenix Global Advisors in Charlotte, N.C. and prior to that spent 20 years at Bank of America Corp., where she was its global consumer and small risk and compliance executive. She will join Huntington's leadership team and report to Stephen Steinour, Huntington's president, chairman and chief executive. Blakely, a senior executive vice president, joined Huntington in 2009 after stints as president and CEO of the Risk Management Association in Philadelphia and chief risk review officer at KeyCorp.
Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington has $53 billion in assets and more than 600 branches from Ohio to Kentucky.
