Huntington Names President of its Investment Unit

Huntington Bancshares (HBAN) in Columbus, Ohio, has named an insider to lead its investment arm.

The $56 billion-asset company said Monday that Belinda Sherman has been promoted to president of the Huntington Investment Company, a wholly owned subsidiary that sells investment and insurance products.

Sherman, who has worked for Huntington as a regional and national sales manager since 2005, will lead the company's broker-dealer sales and oversee its advisers.

"Belinda's unique set of leadership skills and strong business acumen have been invaluable to Huntington," Steven Short, director of Huntington Wealth Advisors, said in a news release. "She has managed an exceptional sales force and driven considerable revenue for the bank."

"I am excited to be leading our advisors …and to be working with our 900 licensed bankers in 600 banking offices who work hard every day to provide core financial advice and products to our customers," Sherman added in a news release.

Sherman succeeds Peter Dunlap, who left the company.
