The merchant processor Element Payment Services Inc. of Phoenix plans to use transaction processing services from Hypercom Corp., Hypercom said Tuesday.
Hypercom, also of Phoenix, said Element would use its HBNet transport service and its SmartPayments server to handle payments initiated by merchants using Element's Express Processing system.
Merchants can use a variety of point of sale terminals to route their transaction data to Element across Hypercom's network. Element said that using Hypercom's payment services would reduce its processing expenses, increase security, and make it easier to attract new customers.
Element will use the Hypercom server in its data center to log all transactions, which will simplify tracking and reporting.
