IBT Signs Up Iowa Bank

Heartland Bank of Somers, Iowa, said it would use software from Integrated Bank Technology Inc. to handle check images.

"We were looking for a new check image vendor and wanted to start integrating document imaging when we came across IBT," Kevin Black, Heartland's president, said in a press release Monday.

Black said that heading to the bank, making a deposit and immediately having access to funds is crucial for customers.

Real-time access "is the future of banking," he said.

Black said that guarding against fraud was the chief reason Heartland chose the Cedar Park, Texas, vendor.

"Once we saw how integrated their program was and that they had check fraud … we decided to go with them," he said.

IBT's Integrated Bank Environment software is installed in more than 125 financial institutions across the United States and Canada, according to the company's website.
