The online brokerage Scottrade Inc. of St. Louis is opening its sixth Houston-area branch office.

It will open March 26 in Katy, Tex., Scottrade said Tuesday. The firm opened its first Texas branch office in 1991 and has expanded across the state since then with offices in Corpus Christi, Dallas, and San Antonio. The Katy office is its 21st in Texas 291st nationally.
Scottrade does not offer investment advice, and the majority of its customers manage their accounts online, but brokers are available at branch offices to answer customers' questions about their accounts, provide other service, or give tutorials on Scottrade's online trading platforms.
