In Brief: 30-Year Mortgage Rate Rises to 7.99%

WASHINGTON - This week's 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose 3 basis points from last week, to 7.99%, Freddie Mac said Thursday.

Fees and points for 30-year mortgages were unchanged from the previous week, at 1.0%. The average rate for one-year, Treasury-indexed, adjustable-rate mortgages rose 16 basis points, to 7.37%. Fees and points for adjustable-rate mortgages were down 10 basis points, to 0.9%.

The average for 15-year fixed-rate mortgages rose 2 basis points, to 7.72%. Fees and points for the 15-year mortgage were 1.0%, unchanged from a week ago.
