Acordia Inc. has named Stuart Young managing director for its central region.
Mr. Young will work out of the Salt Lake City office for the Wells Fargo & Co. insurance agency subsidiary. He will oversee the Idaho, New Mexico, and Utah operations.
Mr. Young, who began his insurance career in 1973, had been interim managing director, vice president, and commercial account executive for Acordia's Salt Lake City office.
He came to the agency through a series of mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Acordia he had been vice president for Wells Fargo Insurance, responsible for commercial accounts. His new post was announced Wednesday.
Acordia, which is based in Chicago, is the largest bank-owned insurance agency in the United States. It is in 38 states and has more than 150 offices.
