American International Group Inc. in New York announced Tuesday that its board had elected chief credit officer Kevin B. McGinn a vice president.
Mr. McGinn, 57, reports to Robert E. Lewis, a senior vice president and chief risk officer, the company said. He will remain chairman of the credit risk committee, the insurer's senior credit policy and credit decision-making entity. He also is chairman of its country rating review committee.
He joined AIG in 1999 as credit manager in the enterprise risk management unit and was named chief credit officer in 2004.
Before joining AIG, he was a senior vice president at Bank Austria, in New York for eight years, where he was a chief credit officer and later head of lending. Prior to that, he served for sixteen years as a vice president of Marine Midland Bank, a unit of HSBC Holdings PLC, in various credit and lending positions.
