AIG Consumer Finance Group Inc., a subsidiary of American International Group, bought Banku Podlaskiego, a Polish bank with operations directed primarily at consumers and small businesses.

Banku Podlaskiego was established in 1992 under a general banking license granted by the National Bank of Poland, which approved the deal.

The bank accepts both demand and term deposits and offers personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, and small-business loans.

AIG is one of the leading U.S.-based international insurance organizations and among the largest underwriters of commercial and industrial insurance in the United States and in about 130 other countries.
