AIG Global Energy, a unit of American International Group Inc., has named Thomas Morelli president of its casualty division and David Hawksby president of its property division.
Both men are based in New York and report to the unit's president, Ralph Mucerino, AIG said Wednesday.
AIG Global Energy serves clients in the oil, gas, petrochemical, mining, processing, and power generation industries worldwide.
In his new position, Mr. Morelli is responsible for the unit's primary casualty, excess casualty, middle market, and international casualty operations. He previously headed its primary casualty insurance unit for North America.
Mr. Morelli joined AIG Global Energy in 2002. He has succeeded James Vendetti, who has been named senior vice president of the casualty division of American International Underwriters, AIG's foreign general insurance group.
David Hawksby was president of American International Underwriters' insurance division. He joined AIG in 1977 in London as an underwriter in its Lexington Insurance Company.
