Platinum Investor VIP features a guaranteed minimum withdrawal benefit rider. For an additional fee the rider offers both a guaranteed death benefit and a guaranteed stream of income during retirement, regardless of investment performance.
Customers can select from 44 variable investment options to create a portfolio suited to their investment style. They can reallocate as the policy matures. The product was announced Wednesday. It will be distributed by American General's parent company, American International Group Inc. of Houston.
