RiverSource Investments LLC of Minneapolis, the investment management unit of the American Express Co. spinoff Ameriprise Financial Inc., has hired a Turner Investment Partners Inc. sales official to lead institutional and hedge fund sales in the Midwest.

Denise Pearman, who was named a regional vice president for institutional sales, reports to Christopher P. Keating, RiverSource's head of institutional and hedge fund sales, the company said Wednesday.
Ms. Pearman was the head of institutional business development at Turner. She joined the Berwyn, Pa., company in 2002 after jobs at Boston Partners Asset Management LP and Loomis, Sayles & Co. LP.
