HOUSTON - American General Financial Group has realigned its operations into two strategic business units - asset accumulation and financial services - promoting John A. Graf to senior vice chairman, asset accumulation, and Rodney O. Martin Jr. to senior vice chairman, financial services.

American General is a diversified financial services organization with assets of $123 billion and market capitalization of $20 billion. It sells retirement services, investments, life insurance, and consumer loans and has 12 million customers.

Mr. Graf is responsible for the company's retirement services, investment management, and mutual fund operations, as well as enterprisewide information technology. Mr. Martin is responsible for life insurance, consumer finance, and international operations, as well as enterprisewide administration.
