In Brief: Axa Unit Hires IBM For $400 Million Project

NEW YORK - Axa Client Solutions, a subsidiary of Axa Financial Inc., has signed a ten10-year, $400 million outsourcing contract with International Business Machines Corp.

IBM Global Services will provide a range of technology services to Axa Client Solutions to help it reduce its operating expenses while improvingand improve customer service.

Specifically, IBM will upgrade existing AXA Client Solutions capabilities by creatingcreate a help desk for the Axa unit equipped with 24-hour availability, - including an online help tool called HelpNow, - as well as givingand Internet access to other IBM services. In addition, IBM will manage electronic procurement for Axa Client Solutions' electronic procurement efforts, and provide support for all its personal computers and servers.

Axa Financial has $497 billion of assets and its brands include The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States; Axa Advisors; Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette; DLJdirect; Pershing and Alliance Capital Management. Axa Financial is a member of the global Axa Group, which has operations in overoperates in more than 60 countries and has more than $700 billion in assets.
