In Brief: B of A Fund Unit Adds Investing Exec

Columbia Management, the primary investment management arm of Bank of America Corp., has announced the hiring of Stephen C. Peacher to be its chief investment officer of taxable fixed-income.

Mr. Peacher is responsible for about 75 fixed-income investment professionals, including portfolio managers, analysts, and traders, the company said Thursday. He was a managing director and the chief investment officer of high-yield investing at Putnam Investments in Boston.

Columbia Management, which is based in Boston, had $330 billion of assets under management at Dec. 31.
