In Brief: B of A Unit Starts Adviser Learning Center

Columbia Management, the investment management arm of Bank of America, has started a support program for financial advisers and investment professional who want to provide clients with retirement and rollover strategies, the company announced Thursday.

The Columbia Management Retirement Learning Center, launched Thursday in partnership with the Retirement Learning Center LLC, will provide resources to help advisers increase their knowledge and productivity in the retirement plan and rollover market.

The Retirement Learning Center is a Brainerd, Minn., organization of retirement information specialists that offers retirement plan education, guidance about the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and business-building tools and training. The program provides expert speakers, educational material on technical topics, and training for wholesalers and members of Columbia Management's internal sales staff.

It also offers support through a resource desk staffed by experts with more than 80 years of combined experience in the retirement industry.

Columbia Management, of Boston, had $361.1 billion of assets under management on Dec. 31.
