BancFirst Corp. in Oklahoma City said it had uncovered a $3.25 million shortfall at one of its branches.
The $3.1 billion-asset company said in a press release Tuesday evening that it had reported the discovery to authorities and its insurance company. A spokesman, Jay Hannah, declined Wednesday to give details.
BancFirst said it expects the insurance company to cover the entire loss, apart from a $250,000 deductible, which it will record as a charge against second-quarter earnings. The company said the loss did not involve customer accounts or information.
