Bancorp Rhode Island Inc. announced Tuesday that it has appointed Linda H. Simmons as its chief financial officer.
Ms. Simmons joined the $1.3 billion-asset Providence banking company during an executive management expansion in September, when she was hired to be the treasurer. She will start her new job July 13 but will also remain the treasurer.
Before joining Bancorp Rhode Island she had worked at Bank of America Corp's treasury group in Boston. Before that she had worked in various positions at Fleet Financial Group.
She will succeed Albert Reitheimer, who announced his resignation June 16.
