In Brief: Bank of New York Hires Pension Exec

NEW YORK — Bank of New York has hired T. Andrew Smith to run corporate pension services.

Mr. Smith “will contribute to the expansion of our corporate pension servicing business as we continue to grow our presence as the leading financial asset-servicing organization,” Thomas J. Perna, senior executive vice president, said Tuesday in a statement.

Mr. Smith had been a vice president with State Street Corp. of Alameda, Calif., where his duties included servicing for some of the largest institutional pension plans in the United States, Bank of New York said.
