In Brief: Bank One Card Unit Names New CFO

CHICAGO - Bank One Corp. has appointed a chief financial officer for its First USA credit card business.

Raymond Fischer, who most recently was executive vice president, CFO, and chief administrative officer at CitiFinancial, Citigroup Inc.'s consumer lending division, was named to the post, according to a memo distributed to Bank One employees this week.

Mr. Fischer has been a certified public accountant in the financial services industry for 20 years and was chairman and chief executive officer of Travelers Bank and Trust.

At First USA he will succeed George Hubley, who said this month that he will retire by yearend. Mr. Hubley will take on transition responsibilities until he leaves the company.

Mr. Fischer will report to Bank One vice chairman William P. Boardman, who heads the credit card unit.
