In Brief: Bank One Hires Litigation Supervisor

CHICAGO - Bank One Corp. has named Leonard A. Gail senior vice president and deputy general counsel.

Mr. Gail will oversee the $273 billion-asset company's litigation and regulatory group in the law, compliance, and government relations department.

He will report to chief legal officer Christine Edwards, who came to Bank One in May from ABN Amro North America.

Mr. Gail, 36, had been a partner with the Chicago law firm Bartlit Beck Herman Palencher & Scott since 1993 and before that was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis, also in Chicago.

"Lenny has won high marks in representing a number of corporations across several industries at both the trial and appellate level," Ms. Edwards said.
