Six months after it began offering late-night hours at a Miami branch, BankAtlantic Bancorp of Fort Lauderdale has extended the service to four more branches.

On Monday the additional branches in Broward, Hillsborough, and Miami-Dade counties opened at 7:30 a.m. and closed at midnight.

The five branches will keep those hours seven days a week, chief marketing officer Jarett Levan said in a news release issued Monday.

"The traditional 9-to-5 worker is no longer the standard in corporate America, and with flex-time, late-night shifts, and jobs with unusual hours, BankAtlantic recognizes a significant portion of the population cannot always adhere to what was once called 'banker's hours,' " Mr. Levan said. "You can make photocopies, buy coffee and doughnuts, and see a movie late into the evening. Now you can bank with BankAtlantic until midnight."

BankAtlantic has assets of $5.7 billion. Its other 69 branches are also open seven days a week.
