In Brief: Bear Stearns Hires Two for Private-Client Unit

Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. said Tuesday that it had hired Don Donnally Jr. and David Greenman from Smith Barney to be managing directors in its private-client services division.

Mr. Donnally and Mr. Greenman, who combined have about $750 million of assets in client accounts, each sell equity, fixed-income, and alternative investment services to high-net-worth investors, the New York securities trading and brokerage company said. They are to be based in Dallas.

Mr. Donnally has worked at Smith Barney since 1968; Mr. Greenman, since 1992.

Bear Stearns Cos. Inc., with about $48.5 billion of capital, is the parent of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc.
