Benefit Resource Inc., a Rochester, N.Y., administrator of employee benefits plans, introduced a MasterCard debit card Wednesday to let people pay for health-related expenses using funds from a health savings account, health reimbursement account, or flexible spending account, it said.
The card gives users direct access to multiple pretax accounts and at the point of service debits the correct account for qualified expenses. It is linked to online client services, including a secure Web page that lets people track and manage pretax accounts. Cardholders also are protected from unauthorized purchases if their card is ever lost or stolen.
Benefit Resource administers pretax employee benefit plans for more than 150,000 employees and 1,000 employers in upstate New York, New York City, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington.
