In Brief: CEO Goes Solo at Ameritrade

OMAHA - Ameritrade Holding Corp. has named Thomas K. Lewis Jr. chief executive officer.

Mr. Lewis, 47, joined the company in March 1999 as co-CEO. He shared responsibilities with Ameritrade's founder, J. Joe Ricketts, 58, who is to remain chairman, the company said Tuesday.

Before joining Ameritrade, Mr. Lewis was president of TenFold Insurance Systems Group, where he was responsible for business operations including marketing, sales, consulting, applications development, business development, and administration.

Ameritrade's subsidiaries include Ameritrade Inc., an online deep-discount brokerage; Accutrade Inc., a discount brokerage; and OnMoney, a financial services information portal.
