In Brief: Changing of Guard at UnionBanCal

SAN FRANCISCO — UnionBanCal Corp. said Tuesday that its president and chief executive officer, Takahiro Moriguchi, would step down in July.

He will be replaced by Norimichi Kanari, 54, who became vice chairman of the San Francisco banking company last year.

Mr. Moriguchi, 56, has been president and chief executive since 1997, and is also a managing director at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. He will return to that company’s Tokyo headquarters for a new assignment, UnionBanCal said in a prepared statement. Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi owns 64% of UnionBanCal.
