Philadelphia Insurance Cos. in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. and Cigna Corp. said Monday that they have formed an alliance to offer property and casualty insurance to Cigna's participant accident customers and participant accident coverage to Philadelphia Insurance's property and casualty customers.
Philadelphia Insurance's agents have gained the ability under the alliance to write participant accident coverage not only for youth and amateur sports leagues and camps but also, through agents, for social service agencies, day-care centers, and private schools currently insured by the company.
Philadelphia Insurance underwrites commercial property and casualty, personal lines, and professional liability insurance products. Cigna Corp., also a Philadelphia company, supplies employee benefits offered through the workplace, including health-care products and services and group life, accident, and disability insurance.
