All calls will be routed to other centers, Clarke American said last week.

The Charlotte center opened in 1999. Clarke American said it would offer relocation or outplacement to those employees, but it did not say when the center would close.

M&F agreed in December to acquire a Clarke American rival, John H. Harland Co. of Atlanta, for $1.7 billion. The acquisition could displace Deluxe Corp. as the nation's largest check printer.
