In Brief: Cobrand Movie Card for Regal and Chase

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Regal Entertainment Group of Knoxville, Tenn., the nation's largest operator of movie theaters, will launch the first co-branded movie theater credit card this spring.

The Regal Entertainment Group Platinum MasterCard will offer rewards designed to appeal to moviegoers, such as free popcorn and movie passes, according to Regal's Web site.

JPMorgan Chase said Monday that the card will be advertised nationally and in Regal's 560 theaters. It disclosed nothing more about the rewards program. - Lavonne KuykendallCollegiate Extends Processing PactCollegiate Funding Services LLC has signed up for First Marblehead Corp. to process and securitize its direct and school-channel student loans for another two years.

First Marblehead, of Boston, has provided private loan products to Collegiate, of Fredericksburg, Va., since May 2002. Under the extended contract announced Monday, they will work together until at least July 2007.

The Boston company provides outsourcing services for private, nongovernmental education loans.
