In Brief: Deal Gives IBM Discounts to ABA Members

WASHINGTON — Under a new deal, the American Bankers Association is offering members discounts on some International Business Machines Corp. products — including laptops, desktop personal computers, and a range of servers, printers, and software — and services.

The relationship is part of a program the ABA began in September, when it added a “special offers” area to its Web site and began signing up companies to offer discount deals to bankers.

“Offering our members discounts on IBM technology is yet another way ABA dues can pay dividends,” said Donald G. Ogilvie, the trade group’s executive vice president.

Jay Nalli, IBM’s vice president of marketing for North America, small business, said the company is “dedicated to bringing the power of technology and e-business to the banking community.”
