In Brief: Deutsche Asset Unit Adds 2 Sales Execs

Deutsche Asset Management, the global asset management business of Deutsche Bank, said it had hired Stephane Amara Wednesday to direct its alternative and quantitative business development group in Canada and Eddie Vandiver to direct the counterpart group in the United States.

Mr. Amara is responsible for institutional sales and client service in western Canada and in selected institutions in Quebec and Ontario. From 2001, he was the head of Canadian sales and consultant relations at Bank of Ireland Asset Management. Previously he worked at BNP Paribas in its institutional sales and equity derivatives unit.

Mr. Vandiver is to work with Jerry Thimme, a managing director at Deutsche Asset Management, to develop the institutional public fund business in the United States. Previously, he did public pension fund sector sales for AIG Global Investment Group and Mellon Equity Associates.
