Both executives, who are based in New York and veterans of Bear, Stearns & Co., are responsible for origination and structuring of derivatives and structured products for municipal clients, the bank said.

Mr. Marsh, who has more than 15 years' experience in the municipal market, was a senior managing director in municipal financial products at Bear Stearns, and Mr. Sherman was a vice president there, responsible for marketing derivatives and structured products to municipalities.

Jon Kinol, the head of rates in the Americas, said the bank is focused on expanding its municipal capabilities and would keep adding experienced professionals as its U.S. business expands.

The company also hired Carlos Rodriguez last June to be a director and the head of municipal trading with responsibility for trading municipal derivatives, as well as taxable and tax-exempt municipal securities.
