In Brief: Deutsche Morgan Taps Derivatives Pros

NEW YORK - Deutsche Morgan Grenfell named Saman Majd global head of fixed-income derivatives and Gopal Vardhan a senior derivatives trader.

Mr. Majd comes to his new job at the investment banking arm of Deutsche Bank Group from Salomon Brothers Inc., where he was managing director of U.S. dollar derivatives and a member of the fixed-income risk management group. He will be based in London and report to Edson Mitchell, worldwide head of global markets.

Mr. Varahdan was head swaps trader at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He will be based in New York and report to John Stomber, who heads the derivatives business in North America.
