Evergreen Institutional, a unit of Wachovia Corp.'s investment management arm, announced Thursday that it had hired a director for short-term investment management sales.
Craig Ferrero is to oversee business development and sales efforts in the New York City market in an effort to broaden the Charlotte company's presence in the Northeast.
Before joining Evergreen, Mr. Ferrero worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. for 11 years, most recently as a vice president of global cash institutional sales. In this role, he started a cross-selling initiative between Morgan's investment bank and its asset management unit to offer fixed-income solutions to institutional clients.
Evergreen Institutional, a division of Evergreen Investments, sells institutional account management and services to corporate clients, pensions, foundations, endowments, and other institutional clients.
