In Brief: Exec Leaving United of W.Va. for Cardinal

Kendal E. Carson has resigned as an executive vice president of United Bankshares Inc. of Charleston, W.Va., and the president of United Bank, its Virginia subsidiary, to join Cardinal Financial Corp. of McLean, Va.

The $6.7 billion-asset United Bankshares said this week in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Mr. Carson, who had been with the company for more than 13 years, had resigned Feb. 2.

The $1.5 billion-asset Cardinal said Wednesday that he will become its president and a senior executive officer at its Cardinal Bank. He is expected to start his new job next month.
