Federated Investors Inc. said Monday that it had appointed John B. Fisher president and chief executive officer of its investment advisory subsidiaries.
Mr. Fisher succeeds Keith M. Schappert, who has resigned but agreed to stay on during a one-month transition and report to J. Christopher Donahue, the Pittsburgh fund company's president and chief executive officer, as a senior adviser.
In his new role, Mr. Fisher is to oversee Federated's investment management operation, which employs 140 investment professionals and manages $213 billion of assets. He has worked at Federated for 26 years and most recently oversaw its separately managed and subadvised accounts as the president of Federated Investment Counseling since March 1997.
Mr. Fisher started Federated's institutional division in 1993, helping raise nearly $37 billion of assets.
