CHARLOTTE, N.C. - First Union Corp. has licensed software from Arcot Systems Inc., a provider of mobile digital identity services.
First Union chose the Santa Clara, Calif., company to supply security for the bank's digital certificates and remote-access capabilities for issuers requiring secure mobility, said Peter Browne, senior vice president and head of the bank's corporate information and support division.
This year the bank conducted a pilot program to evaluate Arcot's digital identity technology, and may use it for several of its products.
Arcot provides technology to companies in various industries.
